ADVICE FROM A NURSE IF YOU GET THE SYMPTOMS
Finally, some sensible advice.
Good advice in, 'Queen's English', from a nurse..not from me!
“What I have seen a lot of are recommendations for how to try to avoid getting coronavirus in the first place -- good hand washing, personal hygiene and social distancing -- but what I have NOT seen a lot of is advice for what happens if you actually get it, which many of us will. So as your friendly neighbourhood Nurse let me make some suggestions:
You basically just want to prepare as though you know you’re going to get a nasty respiratory bug, like bronchitis or pneumonia. You just have the foresight to know it might come your way!
Things you should actually buy ahead of time (not sure what the obsession with toilet paper is?):
Kleenex,
Paracetamol,
whatever your generic, mucus thinning cough medicine of choice is (check the label and make sure you're not doubling up on Paracetamol)
Honey and lemon can work just as well!
Vicks vaporub for your chest is also a great suggestion.
If you don’t have a humidifier, that would be a good thing to buy and use in your room when you go to bed overnight. (You can also just turn the shower on hot and sit in the bathroom breathing in the steam).
If you have a history of asthma and you have a prescription inhaler, make sure the one you have isn’t expired and refill it/get a new one if necessary.
This is also a good time to meal prep: make a big batch of your favourite soup to freeze and have on hand.
Stock up on whatever your favourite clear fluids are to drink - though tap water is fine you may appreciate some variety!
For symptom management and a fever over 38°c, take Paracetamol rather than Ibuprofen.
Hydrate (drink!) hydrate, hydrate!
Rest lots. You should not be leaving your house! Even if you are feeling better you may will still be infectious for fourteen days and older people and those with existing health conditions should be avoided!
Ask friends and family to leave supplies outside to avoid contact.
You DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL unless you are having trouble breathing or your fever is very high (over 39°C) and unmanaged with meds. 90% of healthy adult cases thus far have been managed at home with basic rest/hydration/over-the-counter meds.
If you are worried or in distress or feel your symptoms are getting worse, ring 111 and they will advise if you need to go to hospital. The hospital beds will be used for people who actively need oxygen/breathing treatments/IV fluids.
If you have a pre-existing lung condition (COPD, emphysema, lung cancer) or are on immunosuppressants, now is a great time to talk to your Doctor or specialist about what they would like you to do if you get sick.
One major relief to you parents is that kids do VERY well with coronavirus— they usually bounce back in a few days (but they will still be infectious), Just use paediatric dosing .
Be calm and prepare rationally and everything will be fine. Share this as it's great advice!"

Feel Free To Share 😢😥😭

We understand that we may be later than others to close our doors but unfortunately the time has come. We have waited until the very end to close purely because we did not want to let anyone already booked in down.
It is with a very sad heart that we have to do it but we have to look after our self our children and our customers! We thank each and everyone of you for your amazing support up to this point and we are very confident we can get through this together. ❤️

We have had many people asking for home visits and to buy colours/peroxide from us. As you can understand we are unable to do this as we are not insured to do so! As for buying colour, these are chemicals that we train for years to use we simply can not sell them to anyone it would be unprofessional and reckless.

We hope you all can understand our reasoning for this and respect that decision. Please please please stay at home and do as the government ask and most importantly stay safe!

We will still behind our social media for any questions or help for anyone that needs it ❤️

Love Spencer’s Team

After tonight’s announcement we would like to re assure you at this point in time that the salon will still be open as usual. 🤗

Although we are open we will be a little bit more flexible on opening and closing times during the next few month until/if we are told to close completely, We will still be answering all DM’s as fast as we can. This is purely so our business is kept a float as I’m sure everyone can understand and even more importantly to minimise the footfall to try and help prevent this horrible virus as much as we can!! 😷😥

On that note I would like to re assure everyone that we are trying our very upmost to space everyone at least 1m apart from each other and have hand sanitiser on entry and exit and hand wash in both restrooms. In between each client everything is disinfected to try and prevent any spreading of the virus.

I would like to still ask if you have or anyone in your family have the known symptoms or are already self isolating please do not attend your appointment and please rearrange.

We are NOT banning children so please feel free to bring them along, as long as they have no symptoms.

Sorry for the long message. Let’s stick together and get past this horrible virus 🦠! Stay Safe

Love Spencer’s ❤️
